  • Negotiate and bargain to enable association members to speak with a common voice on matters pertaining to the various skill areas our members represent,
  • Present their individual and collective interests before the Board of Education and other governing authorities, and
  • Hold property and funds for the attainment of these purposes.

YOU are the UNION!

Our union values are solidarity, democracy, advocacy, compromise, equality of opportunity, and dignity of work.

UniServ Director:
Jessica Minguez - 907-373-5247
After ten years as a member of the Anchorage Education Association, I became a UniServ Director with NEA-Alaska in July 2019.  Since then, I have supported locals in rural Western Alaska, with a mix of cert, ESP, and wall-to-wall local associations.  I am so excited to transition over to have Mat-Su CEA as my main local; I live in Chugiak, and am often in the Valley to hike, eat, spend time with friends, and now to work!  I will continue to support Chevak NEA, Chevak ESPA, Mid-Kuskokwim EA, and Iditarod EA and keep growing in all the aspects of this job that I love--talking to members and potential members, helping achieve advocacy and organizing wins, and supporting negotiations for fair and equitable contracts that ensure that those who keep our students safe, healthy, and thriving also have the opportunity to thrive!

Regards,

National Education Association

With 3.2 million members, the National Education Association is the largest employee organization in the country. And NEA's nearly half-million ESP members make us the largest organization of school support employees in the world. This numerical strength translates into advocacy and service -- for improved pay and working conditions, rights on the job, improved education for the students we serve, and great deals on products and services our members need.
