Winter Marshall-Allen
Hi my name is Winter Marshall-Allen. I would ask of you for your vote. I would ask of you to empower me to serve you further as your Alaska NEA Director.
I believe that I am qualified, ready and capable of performing the job and expectations of this role. I am currently a member of various local, state and national grassroots collations. I believe in these networks and building more with your involvement, will help to amplify the voices and values of Alaskan educators; helping to facilitate the goals of our strategic plan.
I am a 15 year public Special Education service provider in the secondary setting. I am an individual with a disability myself, who’s K-12 and post secondary education has all been facilitated through access to equitable IEP and ADA accommodations. I understand intricately and personally how important spaces that provide for inclusion of diverse abilities, backgrounds and access is extremely important to me, our students and our members.
Equitable policy and practice with a lens of cultural relevance and competency is another aspect of advocacy that is incredibly important to me because until we can come together in community authentically our interactions will be hindered in their continued success.
Every one of our association goals, every single one of our classroom initiatives, and every one of our hearts is for every student and every educator. I believe that Creator put me here on this earth to ensure that nobody uses the beauty of our diversity as wedge to divide us as we traverse the path we are meant to follow.
Please Vote for me Winter Marshall-Allen

NEA-Alaska Vice President
Laura Capelle
I love collaboration and communication, and I would love your support for NEA-Alaska vice president. I am an educator and an always-proud union member. All of us in NEA-Alaska are the compass for our students, our communities, and our state. I work in Fairbanks in the English Language Learner program where I support teachers, staff, and most of all students. As NEA-Alaska vice president, my goal is to listen to all members across the state and move our union closer to its mission—to reach, teach, and inspire.
